Color Blocking, or Color Blinding?

19 Jun

Color blocking is arguably one of the most popular trends this Spring/Summer. It consists of using three different and seemingly conflicting colors to complete one very cohesive look. Do it right, and it looks fabulous and chic; do it wrong, and it looks like a kaleidoscope. The secret to perfect color blocking is using the color wheel.

The following colors will always flow beautifully:

  1. Colors directly next to each other
  2. Colors directly across from each other
  3. Colors that form right (90 degrees) angles with each other
  4. Colors that form a T
  5. Colors that form an X

Below are some of our favorite examples. What do you think? Are they color blocking or color blinding?
